This has got to be our most popular houseplant, and its easy to see why given its striking appearance and usual habits. Known as the Prayer Plant, as the leaves close up at night like hands coming together to pray… This plant moves to light, new leaves unfurl from tight ‘scrolls’, sometimes it flowers with tiny violet flowers AND it grows bushy, realllly quickly. Prefers bright but indirect light, regular water, and humidity keeps those stunning leaves perfect. Just note this plant grows bushy and wide, not tall and upright! Originally from tropical South America.
